Why This Site Exists
Novato does not keep every local record at City Hall. Marin County maintains deeds, liens, county vital records, assessments, voter files, and court records, while California agencies hold statewide licenses, business entities, and vital certificates. The Anne T. Kent California Room and Novato museums preserve older local trails. This site organizes the official search tools, office contacts, and access limits that connect those systems.
Resources Collected Here
- Record-focused pages: public records, voter registration records, and people directories
- Official contacts: the Marin Recorder, Superior Court, Assessor, Elections office, vital-record desks, and Novato City Clerk
- Practical routes: court party searches, property trails, business-owner lookups, and historical directory research
- Access boundaries: California disclosure rules, restricted records, and request options when an item is not online
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately operated reference site. It has no affiliation with the City of Novato, Marin County, the State of California, any court, or any records custodian. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person lives in Novato
- We cannot remove information from government records or third-party databases
- We cannot give legal advice or tell you how a record applies to your situation
- We cannot promise that every portal, fee, hour, or office procedure remains current
Only the office holding a record can verify, certify, or correct it. Material reached through this site cannot be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions.
